20Feb2014 - ~1800 (Zone -8) Tested linux-image-3.14.0-031400rc3-generic; both before and after the software update process. Mainline kernel did not fix this bug on the (Gateway) GT5628; tag= 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. (Don't really know how to enter a tag.)
Comment - The Gateway 5628 seems to have some odd behaviors - coming out of suspend the computer restarts, the monitor does not come out of the sleep state, and their is no response to keyboard (non-usb connection) or usb connected mouse. Other oddities are - it is not possible to enter a password using the hardware keyboard until (for example) the audio icon at the upper left is clicked on and off; the update manager will advise a crash and all the while keep working to completion; it typically whines about udisks; and it does not power off on shutdown (restart ok). Some of these behaviors (udisk and shutdown) occur over multiple Ubuntu versions. Trusty Tahr is installed on an external drive. When operated on a "trusty" 8 year old Dell XPS400, the suspend feature works properly (- no hitches on other things either). When operated on an HP6600f, the suspend feature does not come out with an active GUI; a terminal can be accessed. nvsoar -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1281362 Title: [Gateway GT5628] suspend/resume failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1281362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
