Installing the pandoc package does fix this bug for me. It therefore does seem sensible at first glance to make it a package dependency, but there is a caveat:
Is “export” considered “core” functionality of gitit? It might be more appropriate to make pandoc a “suggested package” rather than an hard dependency.
