Oh, well, that's true that it has happened when I'm docked to an external display, but it has also happened when I'm not connected to anything.
The title of this bug has apparently been changed to relate only to the rotated display. From my pov, that's premature. Chris Wilson, there's no /sys/class/drm/card0*/error right now.
