Christopher, thank you for your quick reply. I've done testing the bug
with mainlne 32-bit kernel 3.4.0-030400-generic. The brightness control
works so-so there: exactly like it was with the previous out-of-the-box
kernel update 3.2.0-58. I. e. the brightness control works and the
dialog pops up normally, but only till first sleep occurs. After the
system sleep the dialog pops up, brightness slider moves, but the
brightness level is not being changed till next sleep-and-wakeup. The
newly adjusted brightess level is being applied on the next wake-up.
