I have the same problem after an upgrade to 13.10. It was quite a challenge to log in in such a short time frame so I guess this can be a real serious issue for slow typing people. I would be more than happy to provide more details to get this issue resolved.
Since auto-login may not be an acceptable workaround for everyone I suggest to use the lightdm-gtk-greeter instead: * Use CTRL+F1 to do a console login * sudo apt-get install lightdm-gtk-greeter * sudo cp /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.bak * sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf * Change the greeter-session line to: greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter * Exit (CTRL+X) and safe changes * sudo service lightdm restart * logout (exit or CTRL+D) * Use CTRL+F7 for a graphical login. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241556 Title: cannot login after upgrade to 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1241556/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
