The link i have provided above details how to install lidvdcss2 and
other packages required to play DVDs.
Ubuntu cannot play DVDs out of the box for legal reasons, until the
packages are installed it will be impossible to play any commercial DVD.
I will mark this bug as invalid, you might want to try the "answers"

be able to walk you through it if you encounter any difficulties.
