vulc...@gmx.com: no, the problem with not including the file in the presentation is another issue altogether (but related). This concerns custom animation, and the sound effects do not play at all (let alone get embedded in the slide show).
I think the whole multimedia system for Libreoffice could be in need of being redone, though this is no small task.
