There are several problems with my system: 1. the update manager keeps alerting me that 2 updates are available: Backports- wensoth-server from 1.1.8-1 to 1.2.5-1ubuntu1~feisty1 (size 316KB) and Distribution upd nepenthes 0.1.7-1 to 0.1.7-3 (Size: 6.0 MB). Clicking on "Install updates" downloads them and then fails: E: /var/cache/apt/archives/nepenthes_0.1.7-3_amd64.deb: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 E: /var/cache/apt/archives/wesnoth-server_1.2.5-1ubuntu1~feisty1_amd64.deb: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 , causing the updates balloon to pop-up again. 2. I was unable to uninstall these two programs going through synaptic: E: nepenthes: subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 E: wesnoth-server: subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
Other most likely unrelated problems are centered around my ati card / drivers, as well as my WAG511 Netgear Atheros based card, which is recognized by the system (atheros appears in the restricted driver manager) but it does not appear in the network manager so I cannot configure it. ** Attachment added: "update term.log, as requested" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8951584/term.log -- upgrade from 6 to 7.04 fails - "subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127907 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
