Another workaround is to add "radeon.modeset=0" after splash to /etc/default/grub: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash radeon.modeset=0"
(Kernel mode setting to user mode setting. What is actually means for graphics card?) After setting this there are no more WLAN breaks while watching fullscreen youtube. Also sound problems disappear. The above setting reduces CPU load. I see no obvious troubles in video performance. What other consequences this setting may have I don't know. I also don't know if this works for other Linux distros or for other than Thinkpad T60 users. I'm not sure what setting was on in Xubuntu 12.10 when I was comparing to it. So, IMHO ATI Radeon driver developers should take a look at this problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1277598 Title: 8086:4227 [Lenovo ThinkPad T60] WLAN connection break under load (iwl3945) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1277598/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
