Public bug reported: >From upstream:
"I've discovered a bug in Lapack 3.4, which affects all recent versions of Armadillo. I do not know whether the bug is present in other versions of Lapack. It seems that Octave and SciPy developers also ran into this bug. Specifically, the bug is in the API documentation for Lapack 3.4. It involves the specification of the size of the "rwork" array used by the zgesdd() function. If the documented size is used, the zgesdd() function can write past the end of the array, which will lead to a crash or unpredictable behaviour. I've modified Armadillo to work around this bug, by following the approach used by Octave and SciPy." Version 4.000.5 only adds bugfixes, when compared to version 4.000.4. In other words, the bugfix has been backported: http://sourceforge.net/projects/arma/files/armadillo-4.000.5.tar.gz I am aware that you are in a freeze, but the diff is minor, so please consider this, since it eliminates a serious bug. I've just uploaded armadillo to Debian, so it should be showing up soon. Thanks. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1288046 Title: Sync armadillo 1:4.000.5+dfsg-1 (universe) from Debian experimental (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1288046/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
