(Sorry, I submitted an ugly and incomplete comment before.) I just wanted to say that I'm glad the behavior the OP considers "nonsense" and "demential" is coming back! (LP: #1288957) because it's super handy specially when Unity has *real bugs* such as LP: #1170647 (contrast that with this opinion bug).
