Public bug reported:
expected result: once i installed chromium-browser, i wanted to make
chromium-browser the default browser.
steps to reproduce:
menu> preferences> Default applications for LXSession> Launching applications
tab> Webbrowser menu> change Firefox (default after installation) to Chromium.
Confirm pressing ok button to make file associations valid.
close Default applications for LXSession.
now click at the Web Browser icon located at the lxpanel, right beside
pcmanfm icon.
note the Web Browser is still launching Firefox, so Default applications
for LXSession changes are not working.
workaround from CLI:
sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
and choose chromium. now the Web Browser at the lxpanel is launching
Chromium.
reverse test:
Now that Chromium is the default browser, try to open Default applications for
LXSession and change Chromium to Firefox. Confirm file associations again and
close Default applications for LXSession.
now click at the Web Browser icon located at the lxpanel, right beside
pcmanfm icon.
Chromium is still the default web browser, so Default applications for
LXSession changes are not working either.
tks,
ibere
