Public bug reported:

1. Create an ext4 partition on a GPT disk using gparted (v16 or v18) but do
not format it
2. Install 64-bit Ubuntu-14.04 desktop via 2014-03_09 07:49 iso from a USB
stick checking the format box
3. Back up the newly created installation using Acronis True Home build 6673
4. Observe that sector-by-sector mode was forced because the ext4 partition
was not recognized as such
5. Create a second ext4 partition and format that partition using gparted
(v18)
6. Install 64-bit Ubuntu-14.04 desktop via 2014-03_09 07:49 iso from a USB
stick leaving the format box unchecked
7. Back up the newly created installation using Acronis True Home build 6673
8. Observe that normal compression was applied resulting in a much smaller
image because the ext4 partition was recognized as such

It is my opinion that incorrect formatting might lead to manifestation of some
nasty intermittent bugs. Hopefully these steps which are 100% reproducible will
enable the bug to be located quickly.
