I tried to add a package, as requested, specifying the Kernel, but having written up my comment the system threw it away. I shall try again.
The syslog attached specifies that there is a Kernel Bug, version 3.2.0-60-generic. It says that khubd is 'tainted'. The wifi driver is r8712u. All drivers are as supplied with Xubuntu (not plain ubuntu) and updates. The system is fully up to date 'precise' 12.04. Is there anything else I can supply? Changing versions of drivers etc is something I could attempt, but this problem is tricky, being transient and temperamental. Nonetheless, whenever I have checked. each time it fails, a similar log to the one attached is produced. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292870 Title: WiFi sometimes connects, sometimes doesn't, sometimes stops, Kernel bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1292870/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
