As suggested in Bug #1276700 and Bug #1284899 I installed linux- image-3.14.0-031400rc6-generic_3.14.0-031400rc6.201403100035_amd64 as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds and got the results following:
"When lid is closed" * "Do Nothing" - Worked * "Suspend" - Made the screen go black after opening the lid. However, after uninstalling linux- image-3.14.0-031400rc6-generic_3.14.0-031400rc6.201403100035_amd64 I installed xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-saucy I got the results following: "When lid is closed" * "Do Nothing" - Worked * "Suspend" - Made the screen go black after opening the lid.
