I don't think this is a Samba bug. I experience the same symptoms. In
addition, folders in shares will often change to text icons after I open
them (or try to open them). Some folders in shares are sometimes not
listed, but show up again after a refresh. It does not make a difference
if I mount the shares or not.
I also use 7.04, trying to access Vista shares.
If you use Samba from the terminal, everything works fine (and much
quicker). Folders always open, and they are never missing. This appears
to be a Nautilus bug.
I upgraded libgnomevfs2 and samba to the current Gutsy main with no
improvement.
My current workaround is to mount the shares using CIFS. This gives good
results, but is a poor replacement for the ability to browse the network
or use Nautilus as intended.
