2) gpointing-device-settings: Installed: 1.5.1-6ubuntu0.1
3) I expected the touchpad to be disabled when my USB mouse is connected.
4) The touchpad was not disabled. When I close and re-open
gpointing-device-settings, the checkbox for "Disable while any other device is
connected is now unchecked."
