Unfortunately, updating package versions present in Ubuntu versions that have
already been released is quite complicated and not always possible. If you
haven't yet, you could manually download a more up-to-date .deb package from
more recent Ubuntu releases here from Launchpad - all of them should work under
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Anyway, all releases since 13.04 contain more recent gourmet versions that
should be reasonably bug-free.
