Well, I'm noticing one more general thing that I didn't expect: if I run some arbitrary executable and then right-click on its icon on the launcher and do "lock to launcher", it does lock the icon to launcher but that icon is completely useless!!! The "lock to launcher" function seems to be ill-conceived: it is available for any icon of any running executable, but apparently only works with programs that have been "installed" in some way. If it is only supposed to work in that case, then this option should not be available at all in other cases.
