Public bug reported: I don't know if vnc4server is to blame, but:
1. $ sudo apt-get install vnc4server 2. $ vnc4server 3. VNC to the machine on :1 4. Try typing anything that has an "h" in it! 5. Window is minimised. Whole setup is useless. Some default setting somewhere is making the entire package completely useless, unless you can manage to type commands without an "h" character.
