The Add / Remove app isn't meant to show all packages available. It's a
tool intended for people who are new to Ubuntu, and covers a subset of
popular applications. If I'm not mistaken, the button you mentioned used
to launch the Synaptic package manager, which you can still access via
the Administration menu to install all software available in Ubuntu with
a graphical interface.

I'm marking this bug report as invalid. Please continue to report any
other bugs you may find in the future.
