Without the smtpsslcertpath-line in my local ~/.gitconfig and the new
git-core packages everything works like expected.
[ /etc/apt/sources.list.d/git-core-candidate-precise.list ]
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/git-core/candidate/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/git-core/candidate/ubuntu precise main
$ dpkg -l | grep git-core
ii git-core 1:1.9.1-1~ppa0~precise2
fast, scalable, distributed revision control system
(obsolete)
