Public bug reported: Create a folder and then create these dummy files:
Aa ab ba Bb あa アb イa いb After that, do a filename sort in Nautilus and the result will be:http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/agro1986/Illustrations/boab-053.png Do an "ls" from console and the result will be:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/media/ntfs/Temp/sorting test$ ls -l total 0 -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 あa -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 イa -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 Aa -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 ab -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 いb -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 アb -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 ba -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2006-09-08 12:47 Bb
The behavior should match those in OOo Calc and Windows Explorer. In those programs, a hiragana and its matching katakana is considered the same, and those are put after latin alphabets. (so no more kana in the middle of "a" and "b" like in the example) ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Incomprehensible sorting in Nautilus and ls when kana (hiragana, katakana) and latin are mixed https://launchpad.net/bugs/59617 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
