glad to see you've got sound again, since the problem wasn't with the ubuntu
package, let's mark this bug as invalid.
just as a side note, after watching your dmesg, i notice some irregularities
with the filesystem, that could be the reason of this problem, maybe the
modules.?? files were altered by some error in the filesystem, and that's why
the modules wasn't found, this is just a hypothesis but could be the reason.
anyhow i recommend you to check the consistency of your filesystem with fsck,
and if there's more inconsistencies check for missing files or altered ones,
and reinstall the affected packages.
