Same problem here -- suspend/hibernate have vanished from application launchers and the "Leave" menu as well as the Power Management settings.
I'm on a desktop and my upower -d output doesn't even have can-suspend /can-hibernate lines: Daemon: daemon-version: 0.99.0 on-battery: no lid-is-closed: no lid-is-present: no is-docked: no critical-action: HybridSleep dbus-send --print-reply --type=method_call --dest="org.freedesktop.PowerManagement" /org/freedesktop/PowerManagement org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.CanSuspend says: method return sender=:1.4 -> dest=:1.825 reply_serial=2 boolean false pm-suspend still works fine, though. My notebook with pretty much the same up-to-date 14.04 setup remains unaffected. Both use the proprietary nvidia driver (one with nvidia- prime, one without) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1296133 Title: Suspend and hibernate missing from KMenu and Power Management in System settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upower/+bug/1296133/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
