Is there a workaround? Better question: is there any hope of GNOME developers *not* breaking critical functionality from release to release? After 12 years with Ubuntu, I can come up with a huge list of extremely frustrating and sometimes downright dangerous regressions, almost all of them in GNOME, and almost all of them affecting a feature that was working perfectly well in a previous release.
