Re-tested with 12.04.4 stock image on:
201304-13407 Dell E7240,
201306-13869 Dell Inspiron 7737,
201304-13210 Dell Inspiron 3437
HDMI audio works fine with the stock image,
you just need to reboot it after the installation has completed
Therefore, I will mark this bug as Invalid
For who is also affected by this, please try to reboot your system after a
fresh install
If this issue persists, please feel free to open a new bug.
