Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-applets
from powertop on a fully updated gutsy system as of now:
Top causes for wakeups:
45.9% ( 45.0) <interrupt> : ohci_hcd:usb1, [EMAIL
PROTECTED]:0000:01:05.0
15.3% ( 15.0) firefox-bin : futex_wait (hrtimer_wakeup)
12.2% ( 12.0) mixer_applet2 : schedule_timeout (process_timeout)
This app wakes up too often in order to check, I don't know what. Hopefully
there is some type of event callback it can use instead.
# ps ax|grep mixer
5217 ? Sl 0:00 /usr/lib/gnome-applets/mixer_applet2
--oaf-activate-iid=OAFIID:GNOME_MixerApplet_Factory --oaf-ior-fd=54
# strace -c -p 5217
Process 5217 attached - interrupt to quit
Process 5217 detached
