Public bug reported:

I attempt to select non-default mount point for non-linux partition
while installing Kubuntu 7.10 Tribe 5. For example I try '/c' instead of
'/media/sda1'. In this case Ubiquity start to eat up to 100% of CPU
after formating root filesystem for installation. The installation
process is stopped. If I use default mountpoints - the installation
process is successfull

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
