Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub

I was new to Linux, and I don't know anything about Linux Terminal. I
was installing Ubuntu Linux 7.04 in normal way, booted from CD, and then
choosed Install, then I followed the guide. And I was trying to install
Ubuntu alongside with Microsoft Windows XP Home, so I choosed to
partition the disk.

Everything seemed to work fine, then suddenly, when it came to 94%, the
following error message was apear:
Executing 'upgrade-grub' failed. This is a fatal error.

After the error, it came back to the desktop of the Live CD with no
other instruction. If I wanted to install again, only Guided: Use the
entirely hard disk and Manual could be choosen.

I tried again by fdisk, installed Windows again, after that I installed
Ubuntu, yet again. This time I choosed manual and did as the
instruction. But there was no different, when it reached 94%, it just
displayed the very same message.

I was saying I'm new to Linux, so I don't know anything about console
install. Do you have any solve?

** Affects: grub (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
