I'm not an expert but I think https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-
core/+bug/1301663 is related. At least in my case the reason for the
"invalid memory access" is a permision denied .

I advise to run "juju status" and check for "permission denied" in the
output. if you see a

Error details:
open /home/vagrant/.juju/environments/local.jenv: permission denied 

then it's the same as reported on https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-
core/+bug/1301663
