Public bug reported:

On an MSI laptop with 64 bit Turion, ATI 200P chipset, X700 graphics
card. Am testing Gutsy, Tribe 5 so we have kernel source 2.6.22-10 and
fglrx 8.37.6. Laptop simply fails to susupend or hibernate; all I end up
with is a blank screen with blinking cursor and only hard reboot will
bring it back.

I consider this behavior a regression from that in Feisty (kernel
2.6.20-16 and fglrx 8.34.8). In the latter case, suspend and hibernate
both occur and resume for both works with the hack of /etc/default/acpi-
support given in http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/84991.

I have tried to build a latter ATI driver with the same behaviour. Also
I tried suspend and hibernate with the vesa driver and it works, however
a message error appears on resume that the machine failed to suspend
(which it in fact did).

Am attaching output of lspci and dmesg.

Any thoughts?
