Public bug reported:

I did a fresh install, but I used my existing user folder. This always happens:
after I reboot everything works fine, after a while (can't tell how long ,
maybe 15 minutes or less) I stop being able to launch applications with a
single clink on the unity menu. I'm still able to:
1. drag icons
2. right click (in case of the terminal sing there is an option for "new
terminal" I'm still able to open a new one)
3. access the top search button and run application by searching for them
4. single click on opened applications and sent into focus on them
5. single click still works on: Rubbish bin, drive shortcuts, workspace switcher

If I remove the button and put it back on, it works for a while and
after a few minutes it stops working again.
