Andreas, Yes, you found the correct path to fix it. Don't know why udev rules doesn't work every time. BTW, you can add a file under /etc/modprobe.d/ to automatically remove hid_generic $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/hid-rmi.conf install hid_rmi rmmod hid_generic ; modprobe --ignore-install hid_rmi
