After I've updated my system and rebooted today it happened again.
Then did a "dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc" as menitoned above, but right after then 
removed the old kernels with synaptic.
Rebooted again, and got the same error: "symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not 
found".

So it looks so, that this ticket is still valid. Grub is still buggy...

I boot from an OCZ 128GB SATA3 2,5" Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G SSD with Gigabyte 
GA-Z87X-UD5H motherboard.
After manual grub install it works well, when removing/adding a kernel grub 
brakes something during the update...
