I can report success. I made some clean installs and bios settings changes, and 
I narrowed the problem down to Memory "Flexibility Option" which allows better 
tolerance for memory compatibility when Enabled. It is disabled by default, so 
after a bios reset I may have missed it in the past to reenable it.
Sorry guys that I robbed your time,  you clearly make a very good job. This was 
a bios/hw related thing, no kernel bug.
