This problem had been fixed previously in 1.1.4-4ubuntu1 in karmic, but
regressed in saucy when the package version 1.1.18-1 was erroneously
synced by Bhavanai Shankar when it should have been merged.
---------------
system-config-lvm (1.1.4-4ubuntu1) karmic; urgency=low

don't try to invoke the init script (thanks, Andres Mujica; LP:
#390421).
