Public bug reported:

Bootup 7.10 tribe 5 fully updates as of 8/27/2007

Issue:
in /etc/ there are many files containing the command "mv -f /dev/.udev.log
/var/log/udev"
if this statement is executed prior to /etc/rcS.d/S35mountall.sh, and /var/log
resides on a mounted file system rather than the root file system
then the mv command will give an error "mv: cannot move '/dev/.udev.log
/var/log/udev' to '/var/log/udel' : No such file or directory

this is the case for the file /etc/S23finish.sh

Impact:
besides the error message, there is no impact since the command is executed at
many places, both before and after mount of local file systems

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
