Public bug reported:
While it is currently possible to mount a non-journaling HFS+ (hfsplus) file
system read/write, if the volume is not unmounted properly, it will mount
read-only.
There are a few instructions on the web on how to compile the neccessary
package from open-darwin (now obsolete), and it's possible to find those
packages on the web and follow the instructions. Running fsck.hfsplus on the
unmounted volume will most likely repair it.
This needs to be maintained in the repositories..
