You are right. My laptop is using nVidia GeForce 310M (GT218M) graphics chip. So I've opened Software & Updates -- Additional Drivers: And have switched selection from "Using X.Org X server - Nouveau display driver from xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (open source)" to "Using NVIDIA binary driver - version 331.38 from nvidia-331 (proprietary, tested)".
After applying changes and rebooting this bug has disappeared. Resuming from suspend mode works fine now. It's a kind of workaround for me. But I'm sure this 'broken suspend' bug should be fixed in the open source Nouveau display driver. ** Package changed: unity-greeter (Ubuntu) => nouveau -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299228 Title: Ubuntu cannot restore system state after suspend mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nouveau/+bug/1299228/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
