i experience the same behaviour here on my laptop with gutsy and using ati open
source graphic driver.
this only seems to affects the touchpad which is using
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, i also try using an external usb mouse, inserting
it before and after switch user, everytime with the same results:
external mouse works ok, touchpad is frozen.
this is just for the second X server, in the first x session the
touchpad keeps working ok.
