Public bug reported:

The summary line says it. This is after an upgrade from ubuntu 13.10.
Network and sound didn't work anymore. I traced it to the non-existence
of the kernel module ath9k from /lib/modules/3.13.0-24-generic .

I reinstalled (dpkg install --reinstall) to no avail.

The -lowlatency kernel does not have this problem, I am running this
now.
