The interface was set to renameX during installation, I suspect because dhcp was triggered before udev had settled. This named my interface renameX in /etc/network/interfaces, which meant that network-interface.conf was triggering when it saw the renameX interface.
Changing the interface name in /etc/network/interfaces to p1p2, the next reboot brought the interface back with the p1p2 name. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1295873 Title: biosdevname messes up interface names from emX to renameX To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/biosdevname/+bug/1295873/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
