** Description changed: After upgrading to Trusty, my Dell U2711 won't run at its native 2560x1440. Instead, resolution is limited to 1920x1200. However, if I connect this monitor via displayport, it works fine; it also worked fine in 13.10. Some weird things: apparently, the driver thinks the DVI port is actually an HDMI port. I found bugs #859389 (old), #890088 (mint, nvidia not intel), and #980453 (also nvidia, also old) which also refer to false recognition as an HDMI port. I found a thread (in german) http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/2560x1440 -funktioniert-ploetzlich-nicht-mehr-d/ which sounds exactly like my problem.
