Public bug reported:
Hi,
I've just installed xubuntu tribe 5. After running the live cd I got
some error massages like,
Buffer I/O error on device fd0 logical block 0
ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen
ata1.00: cmd c8/00:08:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/e0 tag 0 cdb 0x0 data 4096 in
which took about 4-5 minuts to print out on the screen then it booted as
normal. Then I installed xubuntu on a hard drive but when I try to
reboot I get the following errors,
Buffer I/O error on device fd0 logical block 0
ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen
ata1.00: cmd c8/00:08:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/e0 tag 0 cdb 0x0 data 4096 in
BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1..3-5Ubuntu)
Built-in shall
Enter help list of built in commands
/bin/sh: cannot access tty;
job control turned off"
then hangs.
I've never had this problem before. So far I've installed all ubuntu
releases without a hitch. Only this.
Processor: Athlon 900 Mhz
Memory: 512 Mb
Video: Nvidia 64 Mb
