Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22
Problem:
Sound output is capped at about 1/4 of real top volume. Messing with levels
does nothing. If you revert to kernel 2.6.22-9, the sound volume returns to its
normal levels.
History:
This happened under Dapper and Edgy, but was fixed in Feisty. I'd track it
down, but Launchpad has so far frustrated me. There are a lot of other
intel_hda bugs open right now, but:
The internal speaker still works.
All the levels are still there.
Sound is just very quiet.
Device:
An HP dv8000t, relevant output from lspci.
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 01)
** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
