A workaround for now:

sudo aptitude install libstdc++6=4.8.2-19ubuntu1

I found it by accident when trying to install gcc-snapshot. The gcc-
snapshot suggested downgrading libstdc++, I've canceled installation and
downgraded libstdc++.
