It seems an error in /etc/environment caused this error:

Setting up install-info (5.2.0.dfsg.1-2) ...
/etc/environment: line 2: sbt.log.noformat=true: command not found
dpkg: error processing package install-info (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of info:
 info depends on install-info; however:
Package install-info is not configured yet.

When I commented out line 2 of the file, it was set up all fine next time I ran
the apt-get install command.
