I believe I have successfully solved the bug now by reading all the comments again and found a solution in #96. I added
echo 0 >/proc/sys/kernel/nmi_watchdog before "exit 0" in the file etc/rc.local. I have used the system a few hours/days/re-starts/hibernates since and no bug has occured by now.
