Did you type everything in?   If you did I need to see the output of
both...

1)  Please open up a terminal and paste in:

s/usr/share/debconf/fix_db.pl && sudo dpkg --configure -a

2)  Post Results here.  From here we can better assess the situation
based on the errors those commands may generate.  (Those two commands
fixed this for me.)

--Option #2--

Download a live CD of Ubuntu 14.04 (or Kubuntu which you seems to be
using), and reinstall keeping your /home directory.  This is close to a
clean install but keeps all of your user(s) files such as documents,
pictures, music, etc..  You may need to reinstall programs and readd any
relevant PPA's.
